ENCREBOOT
ENCREBOOT is technically one of my longest-running
projects ever. Its initial conception happened when I
was in tenth grade, and I've been incrementally
improving it since. Now, the more astute among you may
be wondering what the hell an ENCREBOOT is, so let's
start there. "ENCREBOOT" is a combination of the words
"The ENCRYPTOR" and "reboot," and it's just a program
that encrypts text files. In the beginning, it was
meant to be a more original and secure version of The
ENCRYPTOR, which is one of my first ever Python
programs. I say "more original" because The ENCRYPTOR
was essentially just ripped from a book named The Big
Book of Small Python Projects written by Al Sweigart.
This book was one of my favorite resources when it
came to first learning Python. Anyway, I knew even
then that The ENCRYPTOR was not something I came up
with, and therefore not something I could be proud
of, so I set out to create something even better.
CALculator
CALculator is a graphing calculator software for the
Nintendo DS. I worked on this for most of my last semester
at Wittenberg University, and I submitted it to graduate with
departmental honors in both computer science and math. I'm not
going to write more about it here, but since it was an official
university project, I already wrote an entire paper on it, and
that can be found here!
I tried to write the paper to be easy to understand, so feel free read
at least the first few pages!
Honda Civic Boombox (Part 1)
My first car was a white, 2001 Honda Civic LX with side airbags
and a manual transmission. It was the car in which I learned to
accelerate, brake, steer, and shift gears. It was the car my dad
and I disassembled and put an aftermarket sound system into. It
was the first thing I owned that required care and maintenance.
This Civic was my introduction to the world of cars, and it never
failed me.
One misfortune-ridden summer night, I experienced another first in my Civic: my
first car accident. Fortunately, I survived the incident unscathed. The same
cannot be said for my car. I was completely devastated and the event left me shaken
for the next week or two. During my trials and tribulations, however, an idea presented
itself to me! My Civic may have been gone, but I still had its radio sitting somewhere
in my house. Why not turn it into something special?
More to come soon!
Stay tuned for articles about some of my other
projects, like the self-contained boombox I built
using the head unit from my late (may it rest in peace)
Honda Civic.
